Jonathan J. McCaleb  was born to Bishop Johnny L. and Shavonda McCaleb in Bakersfield, CA, where he was raised on a solid foundation of holiness teachings. From an early age, he embraced his faith and accepted Jesus Christ into his life, remaining steadfast through various challenges without ever compromising his Christian values.

Following God's calling, Elder Jonathan McCaleb joined his father in San Diego to serve at New Beginnings Cathedral Church of God in Christ. It was there that he fully embraced his call to ministry and soon after assumed the role of the Youth Pastor. As he deepened his devotion to prayer and study, Elder McCaleb was recognized for his powerful prophetic preaching, becoming a distinguished and impactful voice for his generation. In 2019, his dedication was honored when he was elevated to the office of Elder by the late General Board Member, Bishop George Dallas McKinney.

Elder McCaleb's ministry has since flourished, taking him across the country preaching and teaching the Word of God. With his love and passion for preaching the gospel, he has touched countless lives, drawing people closer to God through his messages of hope, healing, and transformation. His ministry also challenges believers to grow deeper in their faith and renew their commitment to Christ.

Throughout his journey, Elder McCaleb has been blessed to learn from some of the most influential leaders in the faith, including the late Bishop Richard “Mr. Clean” White of Gospel Temple COGIC, the late former Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Chandler David Owens of Greater Community COGIC, and the late Bishop George Dallas McKinney. Yet, it was his own father, the late Bishop Johnny L. McCaleb, who had the most profound influence on his spiritual growth. Serving alongside his father helped him grow into a mature minister of the Gospel and a thriving leader in his own right. Even after his father’s passing, Elder McCaleb remains dedicated to upholding and expanding the McCaleb legacy.

In addition to his ministry work, Elder McCaleb founded “The Cry of the Young People”, an educational seeking experience focused on prayer, teaching, and inspiring young people to move beyond religious routines to develop genuine relationships with God through prayer and worship. Elder Jonathan McCaleb, is also the author of the forthcoming book, “Help, I Think the Ministry Is Killing My Parents” (set for release in 2025)

Beyond his ministry, Elder McCaleb is a devoted family man. He is married to the lovely Evangelist Missionary Carrington McCaleb, and together, they recently welcomed their son, Jonah McCaleb, into the world. As a new father, Jonathan continues to serve God’s people while embracing his new role as a husband and father.

Elder Jonathan McCaleb remains committed to advancing the Kingdom of God, always seeking to serve in any capacity where he can bring others closer to Christ.
